Terms and conditions
The following terms and conditions lay out the rules and regulations governing Tabulae Ltd and do not constitute a change to Tabulae Ltd’s articles of association.

1 Accreditation.
1.1 Accreditation by Tabulae Ltd is ongoing unless terminated in writing by the Accreditee or by Tabulae Ltd only and is reviewed once every three years.
1.2 Accreditation is entirely dependent on the Agreement (see appendix) between Tabulae Ltd and the Accreditee being signed, returned to Tabulae Ltd, and adhered to. Failure to do so will render the accreditation invalid.
1.3 Accreditation will only be offered to professionals working in the heritage and education industry.
1.4 In order to become accredited a canditate must supply to Tabulae Ltd the following:
a) Contact details of two referees. The referees must be two previous heritage industry employers of the candidate.
b) A full risk assessment of their professional activities*.
c) Evidence of public liability insurance coverage to the sum of £5,000,000*.
d) Adequate documentation for internet listing (at least one photograph and a description of service(s) provided).
e) A completed application form.
In addition each applicant must demonstrate to a designated agent of Tabulae Ltd the following:
i) an appropriate standard of costume.
ii) professional demeanor at all times (see clause 5).
iii) an adequate breath of knowledge appropriate to their field.
iv) engage well with the public.
1.5 Review of accreditation will be conducted by a designated agent of Tabulae Ltd.
2 Payment.
2.1 All payments should be made out to Tabulae Limited and directed to the Company Secretary.
2.2 Payment for accreditation will be by annual subscription. This is due at the beginning of each year of accreditation.
2.3 Failure to pay for accreditation will render that accreditation void.
2.4 Payment for the Tabulae insurance scheme is to be paid in advance and is valid for one calendar year.
2.5 No credit or part-year payment will be offered.
2.6 A discount will be offered to those accreditees taking out insurance through Tabulae as well.
2.7 All payments to Tabulae are in advance of yearly services and are non-refundable.
3. Health and Safety
3.1 All duties carried out by Tabulae employees and/or agents on behalf of Tabulae Ltd. will be risk-assessed by that employee/agent or their line manager and appropriate action taken to reduce risk to a reasonable level.
3.2 Accreditees must supply Tabulae Ltd. an up-to-date risk asssessment of their professional activities. Failure to do so will render the accreditation void.*
3.3 Accreditees must inform Tabulae as to any change in their professional activities and supply a revised risk assessment.
3.4 If necessary a model risk assessment and training is available from Tabulae for all accreditees.
3.5 Tabulae Ltd. endeavour to abide by the recommendations of the Health and Safety Executive to achieve best practice.
4. Data Protection
4.1 Tabulae Ltd. endeavour to abide by the recommendations of the Data Protection Act 1998
4.2 Tabulae Ltd. hold only that information on their accreditees, required to advertise their services to Tabulae Ltd’s accreditee’s clients.
4.3 Tabulae Ltd. hold only that information on employees, required for administration purposes.
4.4 Tabulae Ltd. have notified the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as to the information held by them.
5. Professional Conduct and Standards.
5.1 All Tabulae specialists will conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. Failure to do so will render the accreditation void.
5.2 Tabulae specialists will maintain fiscal probity.
5.3 Tabulae specialists will not engage in intemperate or inappropriate public behaviour.
5.4 Where necessary Tabulae specialists will abide by clauses 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6 herein.
6. Insurance
6.1 All Tabulae specialists will provide evidence of £5,000,000 public liaibility insurance*.
6.2 Where this is not insurance under the Tabulae scheme, Tabulae will ensure the scope of the insurance policy is appropriate through contacting the provider of that policy.
6.3 Applicants to the Tabulae insurance scheme will be provided with an outline of cover by Tabulae and are required to provide an application including a statement of insurance needs which is also accompanied by a risk assessment.
6.4 Tabulae Ltd. reserves the right to refuse insurance applications.
7. Grievance
7.1.1 All complaints should be put in writing and sent to Tabulae Limited.
7.1.2 In the first instance all complaints should be directed to the Chairman of Tabulae Ltd. (except where this is the individual concerned where complaints should be directed to the Managing Director.)
7.1.3 The Tabulae complaints committee will consist of three agents of Tabulae Ltd. chaired by the Chairman of Tabulae Ltd. (or the Managing Director if required.) The Tabulae complaints committee will not consist of a member of Tabulae involved in a complaint.
7.2.1 Where the complaints committee upholds a complaint they will seek to temedy the problem and give a warning to the specialist where necessary.
7.2.2 In the case of two or more complaints that necessitate a warning, the Tabulae complaints committee will consider the specialist’s accreditation, or the person’s employ.
7.2.3 In the case of gross misconduct being upheld, the specialist will be struck from the Tabulae list and their accreditation withdrawn, or the person’s employ terminated.
7.3.1 Where a specialist feels they have a complaint regarding the conduct of Tabulae Ltd. or one of their agents they should write a formal complaint to the complaints committee.
7.3.2 The complainant will be notified in writing as to the committee’s findings.
7.4.1 The Tabulae complaints committee will investigate any complaint put to them in writing by a specialist regarding a client.
7.4.2 Following the upholding of a complaint regarding a client all specialists will be notified as to the committee’s findings.
* Specialists that are not currently taking work for the year, are not required to provide a risk assessment or proof of public liability insurance, but will notifiy Tabulae Ltd. of any change in their situation.
