A Merrie Noyse

Renaissance musicians and demonstrators

mn01Barry and Sue (aka: A Merrie Noyse) are Musicians that perform Medieval, Tudor and 17c music in period costume on authentic instruments such as the renaissance guitar, shawm, recorder and bagpipes. We regularly perform at a number of historic venues including National Trust properties, private houses and museums and perform at early music events and historic re-enactments. We also offer a national curriculum linked service to schools.

As our name suggests, our main aim is to bring merriment to any event or occasion.
We bring period music to life through live performances, drawing people in to the spirit of the day. We enjoy having fun and like to reflect this in our talks, music making, dance and masques.
One of our many unique points is that we involve people in the process; whether to play percussion, dance or sing with us.
We enjoy interacting with people and can discuss and demonstrate the instruments and music within our historical context.
