The
19th Century was a period of falconry revival as the last few
remaining falconers made great efforts to rescue their ancient sport from the
advancement of game shooting. Falconry was re-established as a fashionable
country pursuit and posh ladies and gents would enjoy hawking trips and hunting
picnics in the English countryside. The professional “feudal” falconer slowly
became a thing of the past and falconry began to adapt to serve modern needs in
order to survive.
